Actually we do know what Jesus was thinking about on the cross.  He had 'Seven Words' on the cross.  These words or sentences came right out of His gut as He was dying on the cross.  They are worth meditating on and asking ourselves what would we say on our death bed?  Notice how often He was concerned about others.  Which saying particularly strikes you?

1.  Father, forgive them. They know not what they are doing.

2.  Today you will be with me in paradise.

3.  Mother, there is your son...

4.  My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

5.  I am thirsty.

6.  It is finished.

7.  Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
